New York City Ranked Among Top 4 Destinations for NYE Parties

New Year’s Eve usually takes the cake when it comes time to dress up and party. This year, the NY Times officially named New York City one of the top 4 destinations to celebrate the joyful evening (the other three cities being Las Vegas, New Orleans and Orlando). We’ve always known that our fellow, fashionable New Yorkers can throw excellent parties, but now it’s official. Let’s toast to the accomplishment while we take a quick look at our favorite places to find good Prosecco and wear our finest Italian jewelry when we ring in the New Year.

Few locations can compare to Times Square on New Year’s Eve. It has been the home of the iconic ball drop since Dec 31st, 1907 and remains the epicenter of the tradition to present time. On this day, most of the city celebrates in the area, awaiting the 60-second countdown leading into the next year. During the final minute, the famous 12-foot wide time ball slides down its custom 141-foot flagpole, marking the New Year as it comes to rest.

There are always several parties to choose from within view of the ball drop. Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve Party tends to be one of the most popular. Hosted by Ryan Seacrest and featuring a stage set up in Times Square with a lineup of chart topping musicians, this event always gets a lot of attention. Such a major New Year’s Eve party should be a blast, but for those of us who enjoy a more refined atmosphere, an outdoor skypod at the Knickerbocker may better suit your tastes.

The Knickerbocker hotel made 3 skypods available to rent for private parties celebrating NYE 2015. Boasting a clear view of the ball merely 150 feet away, each of these luxury rooms accommodated 12 to 20 people with a first class experience including dinner, live music, room for dancing and an open bar. A three-night lodging at the hotel for each guest was also included for the $70,000 to $110,000 rental.

We think such a fine party would be a perfect time to wear an Italian gold necklace. For example, this beautiful necklace showcases 20.54cts of dazzling marquise, pear and round diamonds in an elegant, dangling design. These sparkling diamonds will give even the best fireworks display a run for its money. Now all that’s left will be to reserve a skypod this year and you will be set for NYE 2016.
