An absolutely beaming Pippa Middleton stepped outside her home wearing her dazzling engagement ring on late July after her fiancé James Mathews popped the question earlier that month. Pippa, the sister of Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, first made headlines as the attractive younger sister of Kate at the Royal Wedding.
Today, her giant sparkler is what’s making the headlines and being pinned across Pinterest boards all over the web. Including our very own Pinterest board where you can find all the latest jewelry trends.
Of course we’re happy for Pippa, but being the jewelry-obsessed people that we are, the ring is our focus at the moment.
It seems Pippa took the Art Deco route, choosing a ring that is reminiscent of the style in older eras, such as the Great Gatsby times. In fact, when The Great Gatsby movie came out a few years ago, top jewelry brands launched collections featuring similar rings.
The ring’s designer has yet to step forward, but when asked who they think created the beauty, London designers all seemed to agree that the ring is not indicative of a particular jewelry house or designer, more of a period. The center stone diamond is Asscher-cut, and in order for such a cut to be successful the diamond needs to be of top clarity. That stone alone is estimated to be worth more than $250,000.
Regardless of the identity of the designer, what’s sure is that fans can’t get enough of this story, or of her ring. The search term “Pippa Middleton engagement ring” already has a half million results on Google.
